Starchaser's educational arm, SPACE4SCHOOLS, provided material for the Sputnik 50th
anniversary party held by Vectis Astronomical Society on the Isle of Wight.
At Newchurch Primary School pupils launched air-powered rockets and members of
the society fired solid fuel model rockets. At the Society's observatory
there was a half scale model of Sputnik along with posters and information about
the start of the space age.

Starchaser has been developing an environmentally friendly propellant processing
lab within a 20 foot long converted shipping container. The purpose of this is to
develop clean, environmentally friendly fuels which can be used on rocket engine
test and launch sites. With most of the current effort at the UK site being
dominated by Starchaser's move to new premises, the company is looking for help
in finding a new storage space for this lab, preferably in the local Manchester
area. The shipping container would be temporarily stored at the new location until
its new permanent home can be established. The new site could be anything from some
spare land to an abandoned railway or quarry (which may allow some small scale tests
to be conducted on site). If anyone has any information that could help with this,
please feel free to make contact, click here to contact us.
